Terms of Service (EULA)

Welcome to Chinese Forge, an educational application developed by Regna Vita Studios. By downloading, accessing, or using Chinese Forge, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

Apple Standard EULA Note: These custom Terms of Service supplement Apple's default End User License Agreement (EULA). In the event of a conflict regarding App Store specific clauses, Apple's EULA shall take precedence.

1. Premium Scholar Account Subscription Terms

Chinese Forge offers an optional premium subscription for advanced learners.

• Product Name: Premium Scholar Account
• Entitlement Scope: A Premium Scholar Account grants full, unlimited access to all study feed reading contents, interactive dictionary lookup tools, and unlimited reading counts across all HSK levels (bypassing the free tier's daily reading limits).
• Auto-Renewal Rule: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Cancellation Management: Users can manage or cancel their Premium Scholar Account subscription at any time via their Apple ID Account Settings (iOS) or Google Play Account Subscriptions (Android).
• Refund Policy: All financial transactions and refund requests are governed exclusively by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store policies. Regna Vita Studios cannot process refunds directly.

2. Intellectual Property & Educational Content Licensing

Chinese Forge is a proprietary platform that utilizes both original and open-source educational assets.

• Dictionary & Character Attributions: Chinese Forge embeds open-source Chinese-English dictionary data. We gratefully acknowledge the use of CC-CEDICT data (licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License) and typographic assets such as Noto Sans SC (licensed under the SIL Open Font License, OFL).
• Study Feeds & Copyright: Reading content provided within Chinese Forge study feeds is curated and provided strictly for educational purposes under fair use principles or respective licensed agreements.
• Learning Progress & Flashcards: Users retain full ownership rights to their personal learning statistics, history, and generated user data. Regna Vita Studios retains all rights, title, and interest to the underlying FSRS algorithms, database structures, application source code, and platform assets.

3. Acceptable Use & Account Rules

To ensure a stable and secure environment for all learners, users must adhere to the following rules:

• Prohibited Actions: The use of automated scraping tools, reverse engineering, or the unauthorized extraction and distribution of app study feeds, CJK database assets, or proprietary algorithms is strictly prohibited.
• Account Verification: Users must provide and maintain a valid email address to complete registration verification (processed securely via AWS SES) and to maintain active account standing.
